Founded in 1885 as the Builders Exchange of Detroit and Michigan, the Construction Association of Michigan (CAM) is one of the oldest and largest regional construction associations in North America.

Changed name to Construction Association of Michigan

First Michigan Construction and Design Tradeshow

Introduced then nation’s first "electronic" plan room

Established Labor Relations Services

Introduced the CAMSafety Program

2008

CAM acquired the Tri-Cities Builders Exchange and brings their membership under the CAM umbrella of services

2018

Launched the CAM Mobile App

CAM is a not-for-profit organization consisting of over 1,700 members, including general contractors, subcontractors, equipment and material suppliers, architects, engineers and service firms (attorneys, financial management, and others).
