Warning: Scams Targeting CAM Members
Building in America
It has come to our attention that a company named Building in America has been fraudulently claiming that their publication is circulated to the members of the Construction Association of Michigan. Please be aware that Building in America is not affiliated with CAM in any way. We urge you not to purchase or renew any ads through them if they claim to distribute to CAM members.
This scam extends beyond CAM to other construction organizations across the state, including the Home Builders Association, Associated General Contractors, Associated Builders and Contractors, and the American Subcontractors Association. If you receive a solicitation from Building in America claiming to be affiliated with any other organization you are a member of, please notify that organization as soon as possible.
Suspicious Emails
Mailing Lists
Do no respond to emails from entities claiming to sell mailing lists of CAM members, EXPO attendees, or EXPO exhibitors. These offers are fraudulent. CAM does not hire "marketing specialists," nor do we sell any membership or attendee data.

Docusign
Docusign has reported several hacking incidents which have resulted in thousands of phishing emails sent from legitimate docusign accounts. If you receive a docusign email using the CAM logo or company name, it is highly unlikely that this is a legitimate email.

Third Party Providers
CAM does not use any external companies or third-party providers for advertising sales. However, we do contract with benefit providers to extend discounts and services to members and, from time to time, you may be contacted by a representative of one of those companies. A complete list of member benefit providers is available here.
If you have questions, please feel free to reach out to Tracey McLenon for clarification.
If you receive a fraudulent email solicitation, we recommend that you report it to the Federal Trade Commission.
